Pneumatic sealant applicators operating instructions
AIR CONNECTION
Connect an air line to the applicator using the nut and tailpipe supplied or with a fitting that has a 6mm/1/4" pipe thread.
LOAD SEALANT PACK
1,Pressurized Cartridge Applicator.(see pic A).
Piece or cut off the neck of the cartridge and screw the nozzle.
Remove the front cap from the applicator and insert the cartridge into the barrel(A1).
Tightly replace the front cap to provide an air-tight seal between the rear of the cartridge and the rubber face washer(A2).(Note-Air leaks may result if the cartridge edge is damaged).
2,Piston Operated Cartridge Applicator(see pic B):
Remove the front cap.
Pierce or cut off the neck of the cartridge and screw on the nozzle.
Using the cartridge, push the plunger down the barrel until it will go no further(B1).
Tightly replace the front cap(B2).
3,Sachet Applicator (see pic C):
Ensure the desired nozzle is fitted to the front cap.
Using a new sachet, push the floating plunger down the barrel until it will go no further(C1).
Cleanly cut off the end of the sachet or crimped clip where present.
Tightly replace the front cap(C2).
OPERATION OF THE TRIGGER(See pic D).
By pullig the trigger,a cushion of the compressed air builds up inside the applicator to initiate the flow of sealant. On releasing the trigger, the sealant flow ceased as the compressed air escapes rapidly by a silenced quick exhaust valve at the rear of the gun(If this fails to operate, see caution 4 below).
CONTROLLING THE SEALANT FLOW RATE(See pic E).
This is achieved with the integral pressure regulator fitted to the trigger handle. To increase the flow of sealant, turn the regulator knob clockwise by maximum half a turn.To decrease the flow, turn the knob anti-clockwise.
CAUTION
1,The line pressure connected to the applicator should not exceed 145p.s.i(10bar)
2,Always disconnect the air line prior to dismantling the applicator.
3,To ensure trouble-free operation of the applicator,it should be wiped clean of all sealant residue after use with the sealant manufacturers recommended solvent.(DO NOT IMMERSE THE GUN IN SOLVENT).
4,Failure of the quick exhaust valve will become apparent if air escapes slowly by the trigger valve. In this case, the diaphragm of the quick exhaust valve should be replaced in accordance with the instruction leaflet 1 P2978.
5,Front caps should always be secured tightly during use.
6,It is recommended that safety spectacles are worn when using all pneumatic tools.
NOTE:
Tested in accordance with European Machinery Regulation(1.1.95),the equivalent continuous A-weighted sound pressure level of this applicator is less than 70dB(A).
